Due to growth, Steadfast Training Ltd, a successful Ofsted Grade 2 provider and member of the Chartered Institution of Further Education, is currently recruiting for a Employability & Skills Tutor to join our team in the Cambridgeshire area, with a focus on Peterborough and Fenland.
The role will be offered on a Full Time permanent basis.Overall Purpose of the Job:
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL);
Living & Working in the UK;
Warehousing & Distribution;
Self-Employment / Business Start-Up;
Health & Safety in Construction;
Education / Schools' Support Work;
Customer service;
Business administration;
Adult Health & Social Care;
Team Leading & Management;
Money Management;
Mental Wellbeing.
- To support unemployed clients seeking employment and those wishing to progress in work;
- To work on provision funded by the ESFA, the DWP, Combined Authorities and other funding bodies and to plan and deliver innovative teaching sessions to inspire and motivate learners;
- To deliver basic and employability training across Eastern England and Central England;
- To provide guidance and support to vocational tutors with embedding Functional Skills into their curriculum;
- To plan and deliver innovative teaching sessions to inspire and motivate learners;
- To provide additional learner support and pastoral care for learners with learning difficulties and those with mental and physical disabilities;
- To provide administrative support with the scheduling of course provision and eligibility assessments of learners;
- To complete required paperwork in full compliance with relevant funding regulations and in a timely manner.
Qualifications/ Knowledge
- Confident and experienced in lecturing the courses taught;
- Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., Cert Ed or appropriate Basic Skills Teaching Qualification
- C&G, RSA, PTTL or TEFL);
- Significant relevant experience in the welfare to work and further education sector considered equally valuable;
Skills/ Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills;
- Ability to build strong relationships remotely;
- Time management and organisational skills;
- Flexible approach, including outofhours delivery;
- Strong personal organisational skills and willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing demands;
- Personal integrity and a proven team player.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Further Education, Welfare to Work and the workbased learning sector;
- Successful applicants should have experience in delivering Functional Skills (Numeracy, Literacy) and ICT from Entry Level 1 to Level 2;
- The job holder will require an Enhanced Disclosure from the DBS (formerly known as CRB check, this will be paid for by Steadfast Training)
- Some reasonable business travel will be expected from Applicants
All of the above will be delivered predominantly at the Peterborough office face-to-face or, if required by learners, remotely, using Steadfast Training's tutor-led 'virtual classroom' model, consisting of workshops (via Zoom and MS Teams), short online course tutorials and customer calls, providing 1-2-1 phone or digital support.
Therefore, applicants need to be able to deliver and successfully complete the required training face-to-face in the community, as well as remotely, if required.
