The University is about to commence a new exciting phase of our ongoing Estate Strategy, and we are seeking to recruit an experienced, and professionally qualified Head of Engineering and Maintenance to join our growing Estates Services & Capital Projects team based in Preston.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Estates, you will be responsible for providing a professional, cost effective and compliant engineering and maintenance service for the University and will contribute to the care, quality, and upkeep of the developing University estate.
Your overarching aim will be to develop and maintain a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and sustainable environment for all who study, work or live in UCLan, including students, staff, visitors and partners - contributing to the attraction, recruitment and retention of students and staff.
You will have attained first degree level (or Ofqual equivalent qualification) in construction, building services or engineering, underpinned with significant experience in a similar senior leadership role.
A NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, PRINCE2 Foundation or APM PFQ and Membership of RICS, CIOB, CIBSE, IWFM or other relevant professional body are essential.
You will also have a sound knowledge and understanding of statutory legislation and current best practice relating to estate management and have experience of project management
You will be confident in interacting with a wide range of stakeholders, as you will be responsible for maintaining effective working relations with faculties, schools, and departments.
You will act as the primary point of contact and technical expert in relation to the maintenance of all estate's assets and infrastructure at UCLan.
