Job description


We are recruiting for the exciting launch of the new Cyber Innovation Hub A partnership between Cardiff University, University of South Wales, Airbus, Alacrity Cyber, CGI, Thales and Tramshed Tech.


The creation of the new hub will create a step-change for Wales' existing cyber security excellence to operate together in co-ordinated cluster-based activities.

It will bring industry, government and academic partners together to grow the Welsh cybersecurity sector, enabling Wales to take advantage of the anticipated growth of the sector in the UK, and globally, by investing in a coordinated approach to skills, innovation and new enterprise creation, with an aim to train/upskill more than 1,000 cyber-skilled individuals and grow the cyber security sector in Wales by more than 50% by 2030.


Applications are invited for a fixed term (until September 24 initially) Cyber Security Skills Trainer to deliver a programme of CyBOK related CPD across a range of Cyber Security skills area; however, we would welcome applicants with a strong skill set and history of delivering high quality education in IoT security; Operational Technology (OT) Security; and ICS/SCADA cyber security.


The role will involve the design, preparation and delivery of new short cyber security upskilling and reskilling CPD courses for a range of audiences within the Cyber Innovation Hub (CIH).

Undertake significant department administrative /other significant managerial-level activities including undertaking scoping exercises to determine
areas of market demand. Supervise students on short cyber security courses, assess their performance as required.

Additionally, there is a requirement to engage with industry and academic partners in Wales and globally to scope the range of courses to be delivered and to promote the work of the CIH.

The posts will be employed by the University of South Wales, working exclusively for the Cyber Innovation Hub.
