Role Description


The role of the credit control department is to minimise the company's financial exposure on overdue accounts, ensuring that all information is kept accurate on the company's credit control system.

The Credit Control Manager's role is to manage the team, and the debtor report, involving internal company stakeholders as required.


Main duties and responsibilities:

Review and analyse customer accounts to ensure accuracy and timely payment

  • Contact customers regarding outstanding invoices and resolve any billing discrepancies
  • Monitor and maintain accounts receivable aging reports
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues and disputes
  • Prepare and send regular statements to customers
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and payment history
  • Assist with monthend closing activities related to accounts receivable Manage and make recommendations for improvements to the credit control process, ensuring timely and accurate collection of outstanding debts.
  • Accurately reconcile payments from customers to ensure that invoices and statements are provided in the most effective and efficient manner.
  • Produce monthly Aged Debtor, and the accounts receivable cash flow forecasts.
  • Manage and efficiently 'release' credit hold sales orders, maintaining close communication with the internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare quarterly bad debt provisions reporting.
  • Oversee the regular issue of account statements to customers.
  • Minimise the company's financial exposure due to overdue accounts.
  • Other duties, as directed by the Financial Controller.

Essential Experience & Skills:


  • Educated to degree level, and working towards an accountancy qualification.
  • Proven experience in supervision of a credit control function (3+ years.
  • Excellent numeracy skills, with analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to build strong relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills, with a facility for working under time pressures.
  • Good negotiation and communication skills, with a tactful but assertive manner.
  • High proficiency in using spreadsheets, plus word processing and database usage.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond in order to deliver required outcomes.

What's on offer

  • The salary for this role is up to £30 to £35,000, depending on experience and qualifications

Salary:

£30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
