Casual Basketball Coach

The Role
The department is accessed by students from across college and serves the whole college community.


The sports academy programmes aim to develop team and individual performance, weekly aspects involve match analysis, match preparation training and competitive league and cup fixtures on a Wednesday afternoon.

Since the Sports Academies were first established in 1999, there have been notable successes.

The Boys Football Academy have been national champions twice, the Netball Academy have won numerous national competitions including the English National Schools three years in a row.

The Basketball Academy have also been national finalists.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include

  • To take the Basketball teams on Wednesday afternoons and at other times
  • To take teams to AOC Sports events
  • To arrange and confirm fixtures
  • To book transport and referees for teams
  • To organise payment for the referees.

The Sport department is looking for someone who has a Level 2 Coaching Qualification, a minimum of 2 years' experience of Basketball Coaching and posses self direction and motivation.


You should display the values, attitudes, and behaviours consistent with the Catholic Ethos of the College and have a commitment to equality/diversity and the safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.


Terms and Conditions

Hours: 8.5 hours per week from early September to early-May.

Working hours are in line with training and fixtures as outlined below:


  • Monday 8.30am am
  • Wednesday 12.15pm pm
  • Thursday 14.30pm pm

Salary:
£22 per hour plus holiday pay. Salary is paid on a claim basis for hours worked
