What you will do in your working day


As a shared IT Service covering multiple sites, the role will include accompanying the IT Technician on site visits to provide support to end users.

You will be expected to represent IT Services in a professional manner in all your interactions with the schools and our colleagues in other departments.


You will have a basic practical knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Office desktop packages, as well as Apple's iOS operating systems.


Your duties will include:

  • Setting up computers, projectors, sound systems and necessary peripheral devices for use during presentations, training courses, or assemblies
  • Checking computer hardware (mouse, keyboards, monitors, docking stations) to ensure functionality
  • Providing guidance to end users
  • Performing basic troubleshooting
  • Maintaining the asset register
  • Setting up new starters on the IT systems
  • Ensuring toner levels are maintained and stock is ordered when needed
  • Answering the phone for the Service Desk and monitor support tickets as appropriate

The training you will be getting

  • Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship
Standard - Level - Training will be delivered both in college and in the workplace
