Utilities Surveyor

Travel required


To perform, in a professional manner, underground utility surveys in accordance with the British Standards Institute PAS128 Specification including the completion of the fieldwork, processing and production of final reports.

To meet company standards, client briefs and specifications


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Undertake field survey and processing tasks as designated by the Survey Manager in a range of environments.
  • Be familiar with survey briefs, specifications or other project requirements and seek clarification if required.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff whilst on site and in the office
  • Ensure full compliance of team members to both Company and the Clients Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
  • Undertake Site Specific Risk Assessments and fully brief junior staff. Report all potential highrisk situations to the Survey Manager
  • Report all incidences, accidents or near misses according to company procedures
  • Liaise with landowners and tenants to ensure access to and over land is agreed and documented,
  • Process survey data and develop the final product effectively so as to minimise the contribution of the CAD team in preparing the final output
  • Ensure the final product conforms to the Survey Brief and/or Specification from the client, including any variations, and liaise with the client (through the Project Manager if necessary) to ensure there is full understanding and agreement of requirements, timescale, presentation and format
  • Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of survey equipment, vehicles and office environment.
  • Ensure effective liaison with partners and third parties (e.g. service providers)
  • Assist by providing technical advice and time estimates for new business opportunities
  • Record any relevant prospect of new or renewed business opportunities to the Business Manager
