This is a 22.5 hour per week contract.


We are looking for a skilled, organised and enthusiastic individual to join our established team of Occupational Therapists and assistant practitioners at Prince Charles Hospital.


This role involves working with patients admitted to the acute in-patient wards at Prince Charles Hospital, to complete assessment, interventions and discharge planning.

Conditions we work with include but are not limited to orthopaedic and medical conditions, neurological conditions, cognitive impairments and amputees.


As an Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner you will have the opportunity to work along side registered Occupational Therapistsandmanage a delegated caseload of patients.

You will be able to support the assessment, treatment and discharge planning of people with a range of functional difficulties within the bounds of the technician role.

Patient management will include responsibility for the delivery of care including liaison with patients, family, members of the MDT and external agencies.

The role will also include departmental duties to support the team in effective service delivery. You will need to have good time management, prioritisation skills, and flexibility to the service. In addition you will need to have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

The post holder will be working within the hospital settings and at times make visits to the community.


You will be an integral part of the team and have a key role in its delivery of high quality interventions.

You will have support from the Senior clinicians and the Clinical Lead, with access to supervision and in-service training opportunities.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
