Head of Membership and Engagement


The Head of Membership and Engagement is responsible for managing the British Cardiovascular Society's membership and marketing functions across the Society and for the smooth running and operation of the membership department.

The post holder will support the day to day work of the team in growing membership, reaching new audiences and increasing income generation.


The post holder has oversight of all membership interactions and, working with the Honorary Secretary, will direct strategy for member engagement, including identifying recruitment and retention opportunities and threats, delivering recruitment campaigns, providing member intelligence, and overseeing the quality of membership services.

The membership team also provides membership and administrative services to some of the Society's Affiliate Societies through Service Level Agreements.


The post holder is responsible for marketing across the organisation, primarily for the Education and Membership Departments, and will work closely with the BCS Communications Consultant and the Marketing Executive to deliver a marketing and communications strategy that meets BCS aims and objectives.


As part of the SLT, the post-holder is required to contribute to the overall strategic direction of the Society, working across the organization to drive and support delivery of its priorities and address challenges.
