Description

To assist the Network and Asset team leader to deliver the activities and functions of the Council's Network and Asset team.

This covers the three work areas of Asset management, Public Rights of Way and Systems.

Asset; procure asset surveys, manage/process the data to develop forward work programs and asset replacement. Provide technical responses to DFT and bench marking groups for reporting purposes. Assist in preparation of services budget allocations. Collate and prepare submissions for DFT incentive funding and whole government accounting.

PROW; manage and oversee the team in delivering the legal and statutory functions including planning. Develop and update policies inline with latest legislation and best practice. Develop and manage community/stakeholder groups to assist in the delivery of rights of way maintenance and improvements.

We are looking for a dynamic and knowledgeable officer to manage the Highways Asset Management, PROW and System teams ensuring that the council's asset are maintained effectively.

Manage and monitor the highway network and provide the network management duty to ensure activities on the highway are well co-ordinated.


This role will pay a significant part in ensuring that the service responds effectively to the needs of local communities and other stakeholder sectors; communication with internal and external stakeholder is key.

You will also play an active part in the delivery of the asset management and Public Rights Of Way policy and strategy for the Highways service, helping to deliver the councils ambition for a safer greener borough with a high focus around delivering excellent customer service.
