Oak Lee is a busy 94 place Montessori setting set in the heart of Pinner caring for children and babies from 6mths - 5yrs.

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic individual that holds an
NVQ level 3 and has experience of being a key worker.

No Montessori experience is required as training will be provided.

Job description - 40 hrs

  • Assist with providing effective daytoday management of the Nursery.
  • To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the manager or deputy.
  • Assist Management in compiling, reviewing and amending policies and procedures for the Nursery
  • Assist Management in ensuring that all staff are aware of the policies and procedures and that they are implemented.
  • Assist with staff meetings and staff training days, even outside work hours.
  • Responsible for being informed and up to date with all legal requirements for childcare settings.
  • To be involved in the planning of the curriculum for the children using all relevant government documentation, such as Foundation Stage Curriculum
  • Be a Keyworker.
  • Help maintain a keyworker system
  • Help with mentoring keyworker helpers, students and volunteers.
  • Responsible for maintaining a Montessori Work Cycle
  • Responsible for maintaining the daily routine and ensuring that all staff do likewise.
  • Assist Management in ensuring that standards are kept high and that the Nursery remains a quality childcare setting.
  • Assisting staff with keeping up to date with all children's records
  • Responsible for planning and conducting lessons/activities and writing comprehensive lesson plans
  • Carrying out observations
  • Assisting Management with maintaining a high standard of written work, reports, observations, by the staff.
  • Attending seminars, courses and any relevant training.
  • Liaise and support all parents/carers with any concerns.
  • Assist with promoting and implementing an environment that provides Equal Opportunities and is nonbias and anti discriminatory.
  • To work with and support parents, staff and children with special needs
  • To liaise and work with other professionals.
  • To assist Management in maintaining the ethos of the Nursery and ensuring that it holds true in all aspects of Nursery life.
  • Be involved in all domestic duties as necessary.
  • To guide staff and delegate.
  • To cover for absence of staff when requested.
  • To undertake other duties that may be requested from time to time.
  • To work as part of a team and promote a team spirit.
  • To attend at least two Parent Forum meetings a year and other parent based events organised by the Nursery.
  • Maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • To keep personal appointments outside work hours.
  • To report absenteeism as soon as possible.

Salary:
£22,880.00-£24,000.00 per year
