Description

Due to our continuing growth BCE are seeking a Health & Social Care Assessor to join our friendly team, you must be able to deliver up to a level 5 programme.


At BCE we value our staff and have adopted a flexible working pattern, offer sick pay and 35 days annual leave (including bank holidays).


Salary banding:
£23,000 - £26,000

JOB PURPOSE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To ensure that the course taught enables learners to learn and develop to achieve their potential within this context and to expand their knowledge and effectiveness within the health and social care sector
  • To ensure that teaching is delivered in line with agreed internal and external timeframes and that learners are supported and actively encouraged to commit to and meet their learning milestones
  • To ensure that learners are given appropriate information to enable them to submit work through Aptem (online platform) for marking and for oversight by their employers
  • To assess work submitted within the agreed time frames on Aptem and ensure the record accurately reflects this
  • To ensure no learners exceed set learning timeframes (and so risking funding being lost).
  • To ensure breaks in learning are at a minimum and notify your line manager of these if and when they may or do arise, being proactive in all cases
  • To ensure all internal teaching, learning and assessing records are kept up to date and work with your manager to achieve continuous improvement within the role, being proactive about where improvements could be made and discussing these with your manager.
  • To participate in and engage positively with quality checks with IQAs and EQAs in the drive to continuous improvement.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Teaching is undertaken in a professional, consistent, transparent, effective and efficient way.
  • Effective and appropriate working relationships with learners, their employers and other relevant stakeholders are created and maintained to enable the learner to achieve their best and their employer to see BCE Group as the learning provider of choice.
  • Teaching and assessing are undertaken within agreed timeframes and these are documented on Aptem to enable meaningful oversight by employers and BCE colleagues.
  • Through the activities, commitment, conscientiousness and professionalism of you as a tutor and assessor, BCE Group business is developed through e.g. positive feedback and word of mouth referrals.

Person specification

Essential Qualifications
GCSE A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent)

Minimum of a L5 sector specific qualification (NVQ/Diploma/Apprenticeship)

Assessor qualification (D32/33, A1, TAQA or CAVA)

Driving licence, vehicle and business insurance

Desirable

V1/IQA


Skills
Effective at building working relationships

Experience of working with e-portfolios

Prioritisation of workload, time management and priority assessment

IT- Microsoft office or similar


Abilities
Competent and confident in responding to phone queries and engaging with learners

Effective working to a deadline

Clear and effective communication, verbal and written


Knowledge/ experience
Adult social care sector knowledge and working experience

Experience of teaching and assessing up to Level 5 apprenticeships

GCSE A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent)
