Job Summary:

Responsibilities:


  • Safeguarding Support:
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff members to contribute to the development and implementation of effective safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Act as a key point of contact for students who may require additional support regarding safeguarding concerns.
  • Monitor student wellbeing and behavior, identifying and addressing any signs of distress, vulnerability, or potential safeguarding issues.
  • Classroom Assistance:
  • Collaborate with teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide support to students in their academic and personal development, adapting assistance to individual needs.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of classroom materials and activities.
  • Individualized Support:
  • Work oneonone or in small groups with students who require additional assistance, adapting teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Provide emotional support to students, fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student progress and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals as necessary to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Training and Development:
  • Stay informed about current safeguarding guidelines and attend relevant training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continually improve your effectiveness in supporting students.

Requirements:


  • Experience working with secondary school students in an educational or youthfocused setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and a commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators and professionals.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
