Main duties of the job:


The Private Patients Unit is seeking an experienced credit control supervisor to co-ordinate and manage the collection of hospital's debts from private individuals, private healthcare insurance companies & international clients.

This is an exciting opportunity to help reduce debt and improve processes within the credit control team.


The post holder will also be responsible for managing and liaising with external debt agencies, calculation and management of bad debt provisions and write offs.

They will also responsible for running aged debt reports for discussion with the Finance manager and presenting in management meetings.


They will be managing a team of credit controllers and will be responsible to the finance manager and the Senor IT, Informatics & Financial Transactions manager.

They will work closely with the invoicing, treasury and wider PPU teams

Education & professional Qualifications:


Desirable criteria:


  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Mathematics and English
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

Experience:


Desirable criteria:


  • Experience of working in Private Healthcare
  • Experience of dealing with Insurance companies or Embassies
  • Experience of Invoice query resolution
  • Experience of using Compucare

Skills and aptitudes:


Essential criteria:


  • Able to work at a detailed level, identifying inconsistencies and make necessary recommendation or changes where these have a significant impact on outcomes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, producing reports/documentation to a professional standard with an ability to communicate complex issues in a simplified way
  • Extremely numerate and able to analyse and interpret data and information accurately and effectively
