ABOUT THE ROLE


We are currently recruiting for a number of Bank / Relief Recovery Support Workers to join our services in Brixton, where you will have responsibility for providing high quality support services in line with SIG Penrose's Mission, Values and Strategy.

As Relief Bank Recovery Worker, you will contribute to successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our Residents and Participants back into the community.

Providing pathways, support, and appropriate interventions that will enable successful resettlements, and deliver to achieve more safer, integrated communities for our stakeholders.

ABOUT THE SERVICE


HerStory House is a specialist high support female residential service specifically designed for women with multiple and complex needs who have offended.


The service is commissioned jointly by HM Prison & Probation Service and NHS England & NHS Improvement, as part of the Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) pathway for women who are deemed high risk, and likely to satisfy the diagnosis of personality disorder.

HerStory House's residents meet specific criteria, thereby facilitating their eventual move on to fully independent living in the community.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Bank Staff posts encompass key areas of responsibility, plus other duties:

  • Resettlement and Support Practice
  • Housing and Property Management
  • Liaison with the local community
  • Administration
  • Health and Safety
  • Equal opportunities


Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.


KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

  • IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience is required
  • Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, including in the criminal justice field, mental health, and/or substance misuse
    or a good understanding of the sector
  • Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
  • Able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others

What we would like, but not essential:

  • Appropriate qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Community Justice, or professional equivalent
  • Experience of providing housing support and a practical assistance within a residential or outreach support role
  • Experience creating coproduced support plans and providing appropriate interventions for service user and liaising with other professionals
