An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Tax Manager to join a modern, well-established, cutting edge, and proactive Chartered Accountancy Practice in New Barnet.


As a Tax Manager, you'll play a vital role in not only managing the tax team, but listening to the firms clients, and always working to find a solution to any problem.

You'll be someone with technical skills and knowledge because the role includes completing and managing complex tax matters.

The key to success is having extensive tax experience and being able to work under pressure and to deadlines.

About the role
Based in the firm's newly refurbished office in New Barnet, you will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with the tax supervisor to ensure all Returns are submitted by the January deadline,
  • Provide tax consultancy and review of complex tax issues.
  • Review Tax Returns as completed by the tax team and accounts team.
  • Prepare Tax Returns when necessary for sole traders, Partnerships and LLP's and high net worth individuals.
  • Be involved with any HMRC enquiry as and when necessary.
  • Attending to phone calls and correspondence relating to clients.
  • Completing Time sheet daily.

About you

  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Ability to plan workloads, prioritise, and meet deadlines.
  • High standard of English writing skills.
  • Organised, reliable and highly efficient.
  • Motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Bright and capable of working under pressure.
  • Smart appearance and happy nature.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a Practice Firm's Tax Department.
  • Experience of supervising people, and ability to train the tax team where necessary.
  • Experience of a wide range of different tax returns: sole traders including capital allowances, HNW Individuals, nonresidents, nondomiciles, CGT computations, partnerships, and loss relief.

Experience which is not essential but desirable includes:

  • ATT or CTA qualified.
  • Experience with software IRIS.

What's on offer

Salary:£60,000 - £90,000 DOE
