Are you ready to take on a role that lets you shape the future of healthcare? As the Real World Evidence (RWE) Scientific Lead, you will be accountable for the development of strategic RWE plans for our Oncology therapy area.

You will lead cross-functional teams to deliver practice-changing RWE projects and publications. This is your chance to align our diverse areas to meet needs and influence strategies. Connect and align diverse groups across the enterprise -from Research & Development to Market Access.

We work simply and with agility to meet the needs of others from early stages of clinical development onwards, throughout the lifecycle.

In return, we get to shape AstraZeneca's Medical and Commercial brand plans and disease area strategies.


Accountabilities:

As the RWE Scientific Lead, you will lead the development of brand
- or disease-specific operational RWE plans, aligned to business strategy. You will successfully deliver the plan using a balance between technical expertise, therapeutic knowledge, project management and communication skills. You will support and guide Business Units in identifying and prioritising most appropriate RWE solutions to their business needs. You will be responsible for ensuring GxP requirements and other regulation and compliance considerations related to evidence generation activities are met.


Essential Skills/Experience:


  • Degree in epidemiology or life sciences (or appropriate equivalent)
  • Strategic and operational planning specifically focussed on identifying evidence needs and prioritised solutions
  • Strong ability to understand, interpret and communicate statistical analysis
  • Experience of diverse range of RWE methodologies, data sources and uses
  • Track record of deploying RWE to influence policy, system, or clinical practice
  • Evidence of leadership, collaborative working, and personal accountability
  • Evidence of driving publications (including in peerreviewed journals) and abstract submission to conferences

Desirable Skills/Experience:


  • Pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Technical skills: Protocol writing, statistics, analytical skills
  • Knowledge and experience of AZ Oncology therapy areas
  • Knowledge of the UK Oncology data landscape
  • Knowledge and experience of data interoperability, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning/ AI in health data analyses.
