MVA are looking for someone with a passion for supporting people to become part of our Befriending team.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in reducing loneliness and isolation within Medway and provide our members with opportunities to increase their social connections and improve their physical and mental health.

Main duties will include:

Take lead responsibility for undertaking the initial telephone / face to face assessments and carry out health and wellbeing assessments with Members as directed.
To work with the Engagement and Volunteering Officer to match volunteers with Members (service users)
Support existing group meetings and maintain contact with Members as required.
Facilitate and identify group support gaps in specified areas of Medway; creating and maintaining new opportunities to fill those gaps e.g. coffee mornings, lunch groups etc.
Act as liaison between members living within specified locations to encourage connections within their own neighbourhoods.
Provide information and guidance about the service and volunteering opportunities in Medway to individuals and organisations.

About you:

Understand factors that can lead to loneliness and isolation
Have experience in undertaking assessments either in person or on the telephone.
Be able to coordinate, plan and facilitate group meeting and events
Be a selfstarter with drive and passion; and an enthusiastic and positive mental attitude
