Assistant Gardener - Margam, United Kingdom - Margam Country Park.

Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled craft gardener to assist the Head Gardener and gardens team with the maintenance, conservation and development of the historic gardens at Margam Country Park.

The gardens are set within 850 acres of beautiful parkland and comprise a fine collection of specimen trees and shrubs, herbaceous flower beds, lawns, an orchard and meadow, trained fruit, a large citrus glasshouse and propagation facilities surrounding monastic buildings, a 19th century Gothic mansion and one of the largest Orangeries in Europe.

Working to a high standard and in accordance with current horticultural practice the Assistant Gardener will share a passion and enthusiasm for the park and gardens with staff, volunteers and visitors.

They will ensure the gardens are well presented for functions held within the prestigious Orangery.

A flexible approach to work is necessary as this post will require some weekend work.
