Come and live by the Dorset coast We're a small tight team with a thirst for ambitious projects looking for another member to join us in our exciting hydrographic journey.

The Role:


We are looking for an experienced surveyor who has either been involved in Senior Surveyor roles or is ready to move to the next step in their career progression.

You'll be involved in a variety of processing, planning and management tasks.

Although primarily office based you will venture into the field where your skill sets dictate, especially to help train those less experienced or when your personal learning requires additional experience.


Our project types include multibeam, single beam, side scan sonar, LiDAR (aerial and vessel based), aerial photogrammetry, sub-bottom profiler, and magnetometer data collection.

Field and office experiences will be varied and interesting. Hardly any two jobs are the same.

We rarely work weekends and have a flexible approach to working hours.

  • Managing operational logistics requirements for being in the field including risk assessments, survey notes, hire equipment and team accommodation.
  • Managing field team and supporting them remotely and advising on queries they might have.
  • Scheduling and allocating staff to projects considering any conflicts with already existing projects and annual leave.
  • Managing team priority allocation and timelines for project processing.
  • Reporting writing and undertaking complex project QC requirements.
  • Accomplishing complex data processing tasks.
  • Managing quality control, forming, and delivering completed client deliverables.
  • Managing installation, system configuration, equipment maintenance and servicing
  • Reporting and management of survey related defects and any other that fall within your control.
  • Scheduling of patch tests, latency tests, SV, and SVP sensor calibration checks as well as software and hardware updates.
  • Construction and review of survey systems standard operating procedures, guides, and reviews.

Essential Qualifications:


  • Two years or more of single beam and multibeam experience.
  • Ability to install multibeam systems with knowledge of offsets etc.
  • Be proficient in hydrographic survey software and CAD.
  • Experienced with working on vessels under 12m in length.
  • Flexible working approach and ability to work in the field for up to a week at a time if needed.
  • A full UK driving license, ideally clean.
  • Be a UK permanent resident with full working rights.
  • Have English as your prime language or if not be fluent in English.
  • Mindset to adopt a proactive dynamic approach to all aspects of your work.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Have experience in a Senior Surveyor position or be able to demonstrate certain aptitude for this position.
  • Experience with Hypack survey.
  • Experience with vessel mounted LiDAR.
  • Experience with side scan sonar and geophysical surveys.
  • Experience with magnetometer surveys.
  • Ability to process and QC above data sets.
  • Towing survey vessels or other trailers.
  • Boat driving experience or qualifications.
  • Unmanned Aerial System qualification.
