Accounting Analyst
We have a fantastic opportunity for you to secure a 4-5-month contract as an Accounting Analyst with our client, This position is hybrid 1-2 days London office based other days working from home

What will you be doing?
The preparation of hedge accounting, reporting & forecasting throughout the year;

Performing technical accounting research to ensure UK Group accounting policies are appropriate for the business, consistently applied and in compliance with relevant International Financial Report Standards (IFRS) and Group policies.

Production of statutory accounts under FRS101 for companies with various principal activities, ensuring alignment to financial and legal reporting requirements.

Contribute to the production of UK Group IFRS consolidated accounts.

Co-ordinate with internal stakeholders and liaise with external auditors for review and smooth audit process and to ensure timely filing of accounts.

Prepare hedge accounting journals and reporting on a monthly basis using excel models, as well as forecasting information for hedge accounting.

Prepare derivative and hedge reserve financial statement disclosure for the consolidated and individual statutory accounts.
What are we looking for?

Qualified or part-qualified accountant with relevant experience in hedge accounting, audit of or preparation of financial statements under IFRS / FRS101.Able to work independently and identify key issues with the ability to seek out necessary resources.

Proficient Microsoft office skills and IT skills, particularly large Excel model spreadsheets.
Demonstrates drive and commitment towards achieving targets. Good attention to detail and monitors own performance against expected results/outcomes.
Committed to challenging the way things are done to provide continuous improvement and development of skills and knowledge.
Strong commercial, numerical and analytical ability.
Act with complete integrity and confidentiality.
An understanding of the Energy sector is desirable.
