Our client, a privately-owned cross-sector principal contractor is looking to recruit a Bid Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

This company have enjoyed a successful run of project awards in the across the UK and are looking to expand theirexisting team to deliver this additional workload.

They have firmly established themselves with Civil Engineering sector across the UK, covering a wide range of projects including:
infrastructure, renewables, land remediation, landscaping, drainage, culverts,residential developments and frameworks. They have a gained a great reputation for completing some of the UK's most recognisable and technically challenging projects.

As a Bid Manager, you will have extensive knowledge and understanding of the end to end bid/tender process.

You will play an important role in working closely with the management team to support to the pre-construction team by using organisational skillsand experience across all projects.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and prepare bids/tender and prequalification submissions.
  • The ability to prioritise workload to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Take ownership of and submit completed professional bids to existing or prospective clients.
  • Ensure where possible that all outputs comply with health and safety and environmental procedures.
  • Manage a bid programme to ensure targets are met.
  • Ensure design development projects are completed on time and to budget.
  • Assess key risks, opportunities and commercial angles in relation to tenders and other opportunities.
  • Finalisation of bids, support the estimating team and postproposal reviews.
  • Closely with the team to ensure preparation of prequalification documents from a more technical angle.
  • Identify and report on business opportunities in target markets.
  • The ability to provide alternative solutions at design stage.
You should have a methodical approach, great interpersonal skill and have the following skills:

  • A degree in a civil engineering discipline.
  • Strong and demonstrable on site experience within civil engineering projects.
  • Experience in bidding for civils and water projects
