CK Group is recruiting for a Senior R&D Chemist to join an adhesives manufacturing company based in Kidderminster, on a full time, permanent basis.

This role is offering a salary of £40,000 up to £50,000 depending on experience.


Job Summary:


Responsibilities of this Senior R&D Chemist will include to:

  • Deliver clearly defined development projects within agreed timescales medium and long term
  • Provide project led technical support to various departments including the company's sales team and customers and therefore good communication is essential.
  • Provide progress updates to the senior management and project team. You will need to be a confident communicator able to work with cross organisational colleagues.
  • Represent company at relevant industry associations to develop knowledge and understanding of future changes to legislation, standards and industry trends. Communication of these changes to the business team to allow the formulation of a response, whereappropriate.
  • Continual professional development, through interacting with the EMEA and Global community, or appropriate on ongoing internal/external learning.
  • Maintain COSHH and other HSE required documentation and records.
  • Keep up to date with, health and safety issues in all aspects of the work undertaken.
  • Occasional travel will be required to support the qualification of new products and provide technical support to resolve product/process related issues.

As a Senior R&D Chemist you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Degree (BSc or MSc) with proven industrial experience leading R&D projects in high performance adhesives.
  • Project management and communication skills are critical.
  • Experience in polymer or material science and/or experience of adhesives and sealant products an advantage.
  • Someone who is flexible, a selfstarter, organised and has the ability to work and plan projects are essential attributes.
  • Direct report responsibilities will be reviewed following completion of probationary period
