Production Planner


Responsibilities:


Demand Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with sales and other relevant departments to gather and analyse demand forecasts.
  • Utilize historical data, market trends, and other factors to develop accurate demand projections.
  • Production Scheduling:
  • Create and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands while maximizing operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with production teams to ensure the availability of resources, including raw materials, equipment, and labour.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels and work towards maintaining optimal stock levels to prevent shortages or excess.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize carrying costs and ensure product availability.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Liaise with various departments, including procurement, logistics, and quality assurance, to facilitate smooth production processes.
  • Communicate production schedules and changes effectively to all relevant stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement best practices in production planning and contribute to overall operational excellence.

Risk Management:

  • Proactively identify potential risks in the production process and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
  • Monitor external factors that may impact production, such as supplier issues or changes in market demand.
  • Monitor actual production activity to plan & report variance.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and uptodate documentation related to production schedules, inventory levels, and other relevant data.
  • Generate reports to analyse key performance indicators and provide insights for decisionmaking.

Experience:

Production Scheduling: 3 years (preferred)
