Starting Salary:
£12.03 per hour _(equivalent to basic £23,458.50 pa)_


Fully Operational Salary:
£12.89 per hour _(equivalent to basic £25,135.50 pa)*_

About The Role

You will perform a range of Warehouse activities on a two-shift rotation shift pattern, 5 days per week (core hours 37.5 hours per week).

You will have a comprehensive knowledge of general warehouse activities and will be safety focused within the Warehouse environment. You will contribute and support the continuous improvement activities within the Warehouse function.

The key deliverable of the role is to support the Warehouse Supervisor and the wider team in all Warehouse operations.


Main Role Responsibilities - An Overview

  • To support the safe and efficient running of the Warehouse function on your shift.
  • To ensure great customer service both internal and external are achieved.
  • To support all stock taking activities.
  • To ensure a gold standard of warehouse GMP is maintained.
  • Contribution of proactive ideas in relation to continuous improvement.
  • Able to carry out warehouse SOP's in line with the skills matrix.
  • To carry out one Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt improvement project every 12 months.

  • Be active in identifying opportunities that benefit the internal or external customer.
  • Be responsible for completing Near Miss reports, Incident Events and, Workplace Observations as required through EHS.
  • Support accident and environmental nonconformance investigations in your area.
  • Ensuring all MHE prechecks are carried out accurately.
  • Understand and demonstrate through actions the importance of Behavioural Safety.
  • Understand relevant Site Safety Policies & Rules for operating MHE in your area.
  • Understand environmental impacts and the importance of control measures and adherence to them by you and your team.
  • Understand and comply with site waste management procedures.
  • Support energy and waste reduction activities.

  • Demonstrate urgency and move quickly to implement decisions once they have been made.
  • Focus effort on continuous improvement, work simplification, and the elimination of nonvalueadded activities by supporting and contributing to Yellow Belt projects in your area.
  • Deliver necessary support to your team to help resolve issues and offer constructive solutions to ensure delivery of objectives.
  • Support for RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and improvement activities: support technical countermeasures to prevent recurrence of Quality Events this should also extend to maintenance activities.
  • Ensure work area is organized and ready for the oncoming shift and carry out handovers 'on the job.'

Building Talent and Teams_

  • Support the creation and modification of One Standard Operating Procedures (SOPSs) to pass on knowledge to colleagues.
  • Keep up to date with newly created OPLs/SOPs and log training completion with S&T Co-Ordinator.
  • Attend all planned training sessions and ensure that personal training records are kept up to date.
  • Complete training programs on new MHE equipment as and when required.
  • Expected to have passed training on all SOPs and carry out duties as required.
  • Actively support team decisions and challenge team members who do not; set aside own ideas or preference once choices have been made.
  • Work supportively and cooperatively with people even when under pressure.
  • Provide feedback and invest time to help team members achieve their development needs.
  • Offer honest and constructive feedback to others, helping them in their development.

ACCOUNTABILITY

Ownership, Accountability and Responsibility_

  • Responsible for completing all required prechecks for MHE accurately whilst on shift.
  • Responsible for two workplace observations per week.
  • Report any absence to Warehouse Manager following Absence Procedures.
  • Responsible for maintaining Gold standards of housekeeping within own area through adherence to all agreed standards.
  • Be actively involved by giving support to GMP improvement activities.
