We are looking for a Controlled Drugs Consultant to provide support to the corporate pharmacy team with management of controlled drugs.

This is a bank role working on an "as and when required" basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

Previous experience in the management of controlled drugs in the capacity of Controlled drugs Liaison officer.
Experience in police investigations related to controlled drugs.
Understanding of the regulations covering the management of controlled drugs

Duties of this role include:

Ensure effective controlled drugs governance and learning from audit
Conducting investigations related to unaccounted losses of CDs
Conducting audits at sites as per the request of the hospital CDAO or chief pharmacist
Providing refresher training as and when requested by the corporate pharmacy team
Management of illicit substances
To provide support to the corporate pharmacy team with management of controlled drugs.
To provide training related to:
regulations that govern the management of controlled drugs

- the role and responsibilities of a Controlled Drug Accountable officer
- investigations linked to unaccounted losses of controlled drugs

Understanding the scale of abuse and diversion of CDs by healthcare professionals
Improve skills in identification and management of theft and abuse by staff
