We are looking for a receptionist to help in our busy school office. This is an exciting opportunity to join Woodlands Primary School and become an integral member of the team.

Our school is a two-form entry primary with an integrated nursery and a Hearing Impaired Resource Base for South Gloucestershire.

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure school security and safeguarding arrangements are always complied with, including the issue of visitor's badges and completing Safeguarding checks.
  • Ensure student attendance processes are adhered to and assist where needed including making phone calls to families for unplanned attendance.
  • Take children or children's items to classrooms as needed.
  • Adhere to medicines policy and procedures.
  • Assist with the collection of monies.
  • Filing and photocopying as required.
  • Updating and using the school's computerised systems as necessary
  • Provide general clerical support as required.
  • Liaising with key members of staff within the wider school team, e.g. pastoral and attendance officers, catering manager and class teachers
  • Work as a team member and identify opportunities for working with colleagues and sharing the development of effective practice with them.

You will need:

  • At least five GCSE's or equivalent, which must include at least a C/4 grade in Maths and English.
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment.
  • Successful experience of working in a customer service or receptionist role.
  • Experience and confidence using computerised systems for communications and data management.
  • Ability to multitask in a busy office, with competing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fastpaced environment.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills. Be approachable and professional.
  • Have emotional resilience and maturity when dealing with others. Conflict resolution skills.
  • Dependable, able to follow instructions and flexible to work where the need is.
  • Able to adapt approaches and work with the team to ensure smooth running of the office.
  • Commitment to working within the School's Safeguarding Policy and Procedures.
