Purpose of the Role


To assist in the co-ordination of all tenant shop-fit project works to ensure Metrocentre gets the very best and most inspirational of shopfits delivered throughout the centre.


To assist in the project management of selected capital expenditure and general maintenance projects as specified by the Technical Project Manager as and when required.

The role will also include assisting in Life Cycle Management project works from strategy through to delivery/snagging, whilst ensuring all works are coordinated and delivered according to specification.


Key Responsibilities

  • To support coordination & to facilitate Shopfit projects, Landlords small works projects and shell schemes when necessary.
  • To assist in the management of the centres 10year Life Cycle Management strategy in conjunction with the Technical Project Manager.
  • To support the management of the procurement/tender, delivery and contract process for all project works.
  • To carry out varying types of surveys and to assist in updating the centre base CAD plans.
  • To assist in the management/monitoring of all project expenditure and budgets supported by the centres Business Support Team.
  • Maintain all tenant shopfit information to support Technical Project Manager.
  • Assist in arranging design meetings and attending Pre-Start Meetings with tenants and contractor and attend witness test at end of each project in conjunction with Technical Project Manager.
  • To ensure retailers have high awareness of and adhere to the Permit to Work system and the requirements imposed on them, in conjunction with the Technical Project Manager. To report on progress and programme to senior management, as necessary.
  • Develop an understanding of Building Services related Health and Safety legislation and requirements e.g. CDM.
  • Assist in ensuring that the Retailer/Technical Handbook is kept up to date at all times.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Technical/Shopfit Project Management experience preferable
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to takecharge and selfmanage projects.
  • AutoCAD experience preferable.
  • Logical & practical thinker.
  • A blend of creativity and innovation with pragmatism and precision is needed for completing projects.
  • An eye for detail.
  • Able to persuade and maintain excellent relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Flexible and articulate.
  • Highly motivated & tenacious.
  • Project Management qualification preferable.
Working Hours hours - Monday to Friday
