Description

Following a recent restructure of Building Management Services, we have introduced a new role of Building Service Assistant to provide support in buildings throughout the evening until 10pm to ensure excellent customer service.


The role should appeal to those with an event or customer focused outlook, where a friendly flexible and approachable outlook is required.

The role includes porterage, customer service, reporting of maintenance and housekeeping services.

You will need to be customer focused.

You will have a proactive approach to work, an enthusiasm for providing an excellent student/staff/visitor experience and the ability to prioritise and work under pressure to meet operational deadlines.

Some flexibility in working patterns will be required to meet operational needs.


You should have a minimum of 3 GCSE at grade C or above (or equivalent qualification), including English Language and be IT literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Training will be provided on our bespoke room bookings database.

The post is for 25 hours per week, Monday

  • Friday between 1600
  • 2200 hours. The post is term time only from Mid-September until early June, depending on the academic year. There will be an opportunity to undertake overtime on an ad hoc basis outside of these hours.
