The Business Services Organisation (BSO) is an organisation at the heart of the Health and Social Care system within Northern Ireland.
As part of their support to the Health and Social Care system, BSO lead on enabling digital transformation in the service ensuring staff, patients and service users have access to innovative technological solutions which add real and meaningful value.
Thenewly formed Digital Operations Directorate will provide strategic leadership and ensure delivery of a range of highly complex and critical digital programmes.
The role
The new role of Digital Operations Director will be an executive member of the BSO Board and lead this newly formed directorate.
The postholder will lead on a portfolio of complex IT transformation programmes aimed at improving how health and social careservices are delivered in Northern Ireland.
The role will be a strategic role in the overall digital leadership across the health and care system in Northern Ireland.
The postholder will develop effective working with a range of senior stakeholders across the system including the Chief Digital Information Officer for NI Health and Care (CDIO) who has responsibility for commissioning digital transformation programmes inline with the HSC Digital Policy and Strategy.
Key aspects of the role will include:
- The provision, design, development and delivery and business as usual
- The collection, analysis, use and dissemination of data and future developments in this area
- The provision of advice and guidance to the HSC and CDIO about improving digital platforms, systems and services
- Supporting bodies and persons identified in directions given by Department of Health in relation to matters relevant to digital platforms, systems and services; and participation in national/international forums as required
- Effective management and development of the regional digital infrastructure/platforms including cybersecurity, crisis and contingency planning
- Leading HSC silver command in the event of an HSC digital disaster/cyberattack
- Integration of digital shared services to a new directorate
- Strategic leadership of a diverse team in excess of 300 staff
