We have been busy recruiting a new team for our 3-bedded therapeutic home for children and young people who are healing from adverse childhood experiences.

We now need to appoint our
Team Leader for our home which is situated
in DE13, Staffordshire.

Qualifications

  • Supervisory or Managerial experience within an EBD/LD Ofsted regulated service
    (required):
  • Level 3 or 4 Residential Child Care Qualification
    (required):
  • DBS on the update service (preferred)

The role of Team Leader...


You will be
required to deliver effectively on a wide range of outcomes, and you will work on a multi-agency basis with professionals from a wide range of backgrounds.


This Team Leader position is permanent; however we would like to be able to support you with your career development and would like to support you with obtaining further qualifications to be able to progress within our company.


You will play a leading role; you will work closely with the registered manager and Deputy Manager and you will gain further knowledge of the principles of long-term care and support for children and young people, the legislation, and the compliance requirements for running a children's residential home to support you with your career development.


Please note, you should be willing to take on all additional training to best support our young people and your own career development.


Our young people are in need of stability, care, guidance and mentoring and require a high level of care and support to make a real difference to their lives and their future.


Our young people may be living with low self-esteem, excessive worry and may be feeling overwhelmed.


We are looking for our Team Leader to be be a stabilising influence, someone who will help to promote resilience and have amazing team-building and delegation skills.


Shift Patterns and Hours:


  • 10/12 hour shifts dependent on sleepin duties
  • 7.30am start until 11pm with no sleep
  • 7.30am start until 11pm + sleep in Shift finishes 8am
  • 6/8 sleeps per month
- £60.00 per sleep-in shift complete


Responsibilities include:


  • To help our young people achieve their goals and ambitions
  • Build and develop relationships with our young people and encourage them to participate fully in the opportunities offered within the home
  • Plan and participate fully in a working rota, this will include evenings, sleep inns and weekends
  • Build strong working relationships with external agencies such as Local Authorities and other Health/Social Care professionals
  • Conduct formal key work sessions with young people and produce reports for each session
  • Be responsible for the effective Safeguarding of the young people within your care and understand how to raise any concerns
  • Support our young people with everyday day tasks such as cooking, cleaning, medical appointments, meetings etc
  • Experience of working within a children and young adult residential environment
  • An understanding of relevant legislation relating to the care of young people
  • Experience of working with young people that have social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties (desirable)
  • Manage your team effectively, demonstrate excellent leadership qualities

Please note, your salary will be dependent on your experience and qualifications already achieved.
