The Governors of Alfreton Nursery School wish to appoint a highly motivated individual to take up post in our school as soon as possible.


Our Ofsted rating has been outstanding for over 20 years and we pride ourselves on looking after all our staff, children and families.

Our 65 place nursery is currently full and this is largely due to the high standards of Education we provide, which celebrates the diverse needs of all our families in our community.


Hours of work:
Monday 8.30am to 12.30pm

Tuesday 8.30am to 11.30am

Wednesday 8.30am to 11.30am

Thursday 8.30am to 3.30pm (one hour lunch)

Friday 8.30am to 3.3pm (one hour lunch).

Nursery Nurse

This is an exciting opportunity for a caring, professional and flexible individual.


Nursery Nurse Key responsibilities:

  • Providing high quality care for all children at Alfreton Nursery School.
  • Liasing with parents and external professionals on a regular basis.
- carrying out observations and assessments (electronically)

  • Supporting children with SEND
  • Planning stimulating and challenging activities for children, inparticular for children with SEND.

Nursery Nurse Requirements:

  • NVQ level 3 in childcare
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding
  • Knowledge of the EYFS
  • Have a desire and an enthusiasm to support pupils with SEND achieve their full potential
  • Can deal with behaviours that challenge
  • Are enthusiastic, confident, and able to show initiative
  • Are effective communicators with children, students, staff and parents
  • Friendly, fun, flexible and caring.
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience of working with children and SEND.
  • Are friendly with a good sense of humour
  • Possess good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Can work as part of a team and effective alone
  • Are calm and patient
