HR Advisor - Construction - £12,605 - £13,840 - Part Time 18.5 hrs p/wk


Bates & Bradshaw are recruiting on behalf of a major Construction & Maintenance company in the Hull area who operate as one of the leading building, repairs, and maintenance contractors.

They are presently employing around 500 people and have a turnover of £50m and they have some ambitious plans in place to grow this again over the coming years.


Due to our ongoing business growth, we have an exciting opportunity to be part of our busy HR team providing generalist HR guidance and support to the management team.


Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the HR Manager your responsibilities include:

  • Provide concise advice to managers on discipline, grievance, performance and change management.
  • Provide a professional and proactive approach to ensure our client takes the necessary steps to meet current and future employment legislation requirements.
  • Assist with all recruitment and inductions where required.
  • Supporting the management team with sickness/absence processes.
  • Ensure employee records are updated accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Be familiar with, and adhere to, company policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with Payroll regarding employee information and changes.


The successful HR Advisor will be positive, pragmatic, have a can do, problem-solving attitude, with a passion and purpose for delivering excellent HR support and guidance.


Hours of Work

  • 18.5 hours per week (Tuesday to Friday)

Minimum Requirements:


  • Ideally working towards or CIPD qualified.
  • Minimum of 2 years working in a HR environment.
  • Ability to manage conflicting demands and competing priorities
  • Confident approach with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good IT skills are essential, with particular knowledge of Microsoft packages.
