Job Title:
Accounts Assistant


Reports to:
Financial Controller


Location:
Hillsborough


Purpose of the role:

To assist the Financial Controller with the day to day running of the accounts department. Including ownership of the purchase and sales ledger and building and maintaining strong business relationships with suppliers and customers.


Responsibilities:

Check, query and accurately input supplier invoices into the finance system.

  • Code invoices to nominal ledger and service jobs.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies in a professional and timely manner.
  • Work with Parts and Service Teams to resolve any parts issues, price, and quantity variances.
  • Prepare BACS payment runs.
  • Handle all purchase enquires with suppliers.
  • Raise sales and job cost invoices.
  • Post payments and assist in management of credit control.
  • Run monthly customer statements.
  • Assist with customer and intercompany enquires in a professional manner.
  • Completion of bank reconciliations.
  • Management of Petty Cash.
  • Assist the Financial Controller with fleet management and stock management.
  • Assist with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of VAT and Intrastat returns.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and streamlining of the accounting systems and procedures.
  • Maintenance and upkeep of filing systems and records.
  • Any other Administrative duties.
  • Work with all departments, particularly with projects that are being explored or implemented.
  • Undertake any other duties consistent with the purpose of this job or to support the needs of the business.

Required:
Strong communication skills.


  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Strong IT skills.

Critical Knowledge
Specific equipment training will be provided by Terberg MPM.

Required:
Understanding and awareness of current and future technology developments.


  • Good knowledge of other Microsoft Office
  • Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Qualifications and
1-2 years previous experience within a finance role.

Experience required:
Experience working with stock and job costing.


Salary:
From £26,000.00 per year
