We are looking for an experienced baker to work in our small batch bakery in Shieldfield - Newcastle. Our emphasis is on quality and value for money. You should be experienced across a wide range of breads including sourdoughs, pastries and confectionary. We are a small but expanding community business - dedicated to delivering affordable and quality food.We are a small team so flexibility is key.
We are a social enterprise delivering many community projects from helping local schools by providing free breakfasts and free in term and holiday baking sessions, community free baking sessions and ad hoc activities.
We are a fully inclusive bakery - we employ some people with learning difficulties. We offer free meals to the homeless or individuals needing a helping hand.We also have a strict no waste and sustainability policy - so it is important that anyone working in the team embraces our ethos and values.
You would be expected to work Saturdays on a rota (1 Saturday per month) and also have the ability to facilitate baking classes - either our free baking classes or our paid classes).
Working hours are 37 per week - 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
Working week - flexible - between 6am and 4pm - if working a Saturday - time will be given off in lieu during the week.
Salary:
From £12.00 per hour
