Description
Shropshire Domestic Abuse Service (SDAS) provides accommodation and outreach support to families and individuals across the County of Shropshire.


The Domestic Abuse Male Support Officer role is to facilitate education and recovery domestic abuse groups for men who are experiencing or who have experienced domestic abuse.

Groups will run both online and in person.

You will support a small number of men with low needs on a 121 basis providing an effective support service with the aim of enabling the survivor to develop the skills and resources necessary to move on from abuse and maintain independence and self-reliance, and participate in raising awareness about domestic abuse at events and via campaigns.


You will have a natural sense of professional curiosity with an understanding of a trauma informed approach when supporting adults who are victims of domestic abuse.


  • The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is open to men only. (Exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1)_
This role has been identified as suitable for Hybrid Working which will be a combination of home working and working from our offices with Head office at Craven Arms and travel to other offices as required
