Description

Extensive experience in respiratory management isn't essential but a keen interest to learn and develop in the role is a must.

This role is open to Registered Nurses, Physiotherapists and Paramedics.

Undertake expert specialist respiratory assessment of services users, including those with complex presentation, to formulate individualised management and treatment plans using evidence based clinical reasoning skills and utilising a wide range of treatment skills and options.


To perform specialist respiratory assessments (including assessment for home oxygen therapy) in a variety of settings by undertaking a holistic approach and following local and national guidelines and protocols.


Work with service users and their carers towards shared goals providing advice and support, signposting to other community services and organisations to ensure person centred care and promoting physical, psychological and social wellbeing.

Provide education and advice to enable self-management and prevent unnecessary hospital admissions.

To support the service in carrying out Pulmonary Rehabilitation programmes.


To work with patients to decide on the most appropriate PR pathway for them, working as part of an integrated team and in partnership with other health care providers.


Be a proactive member of the multi-disciplinary team and have a significant role in the on-going service development, delivery and evaluation of the Community Respiratory service across BNSSG.
