The Role


As the Regional Head of Technology for EMEA & APAC, you will have the unique opportunity to partner with Global Technology leaders to determine the technology strategy for EMEA & APAC across the Trading, Post Trade and Data Solutions businesses as well as for our Platform, Infrastructure, Information Security organizations.

You will partner with local business leaders to drive priorities for technology deliverables in our regions and be accountable for ensuring that deliveries occur in line with regional P&L, control, and regulatory objectives.


As the Head of Post-Trade Technology, you will own the full suite of products for one of the foremost Post Trade businesses in the world.

The Post Trade business includes regulatory reporting services (including ARM, APA, EMIR, etc.), a trade matching platform and a suite of intelligent analytics tools that are used by major global counterparties on both the buy-side and sell-side.

One of your key objectives will be to drive the strategic re-engineering of the Post Trade platform, which is currently in progress.


This role will be designated as a Certified Staff, Significant Management Function, Supervising Certified Function and Material Risk Taker (MRT) for the purposes of the UK SMCR.


How You'll Help Take US There

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the EMEA & APAC leadership team, as well as the Global CIO & CTO
  • Ensure alignment between technology roadmaps and business objectives

Business objectives will include:

  • Regional P&L objectives
  • Regional control objectives
  • Regulatory requirements
  • Effectively liaise and partner with the global technology leadership team on technology strategy, product prioritization and interdependencies between teams
  • Partner with local product managers and sales managers in determining priorities for applicable technology scrum teams. Prioritization decisions will be made in the context of global priorities and the quarterly PI planning process
  • Lead day to day management of the Post-Trade Technology team

This includes:

  • Delivering upon strategic objectives such as reengineering and modernization of the platform
  • Leading the team day to day and contributing to their developmental needs
  • Driving best practice in terms of architecture and tooling
  • Provide local oversight and escalation point for the EMEA & APAC technology teams
  • Act as the 'face of technology' to regulators in multiple jurisdictions. Key regulators include FCA, ESMA, MAS and HKMA.
  • Attract, develop, and retain highperforming teams across all of Technology regionally

What We're Looking for

  • An accomplished technology leader with 15+ years' experience in delivering technology. At least 5 years must be in financial services, preferably securities trading
  • Experience leading technology support functions (e.g., production support, local infrastructure, etc.) preferred. Appreciation for and ability to provide local support to these functions required
  • Proven ability to lead/manage teams of 50+; credible leadership and motivational skills
  • The role is global, and the incumbent must be proactive and collaborate on solutions with global stakeholders and colleagues in different regions and time zones
  • Highly experienced at managing regulatory requirements and projects and confident in acting as a key point of liaison to regulators globally
  • Proven track record of delivering, planning solutions in a complex, matrixed environment
  • Experience developing and coaching high performing teams
  • Highly ethical; monitors the strict adherence to governance and sets high standards of professionalism
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and potentially conflicting priorities and an ability to take a professional stance in these situations
  • Balances big ideas with prudent expense management
  • Good understanding of local regulation as well as regulatory changes and implications on market structure
  • Comfortable speaking to clients and nontechnology colleagues required
  • Track record of effectively managing offshore staff strongly preferred
  • Must be deemed "fit and proper" for a Certified role in relation to UK entities under SMCR scope
  • Active member of the EMT (EMEA & APAC Management Team)
