Purpose of Role:


This is a varied role providing support to nascent sectors, with a focus on storage and renewable energy (floating wind, tidal stream, wave and tidal range).

Working as part of the Assets Team, the key activities will be to support the New Ventures team in all aspects of asset portfolio management, including ensuring critical asset management dates and review tasks are completed; review and management of our events and risk management system; maintaining storage, reporting and retrieval of asset and infrastructure data; and responding to seabed license sign-off requests.

A critical aspect of the role is to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and project partner and supplier performance, thereby contributing to the Marine Strategic Business Unit's strategy in service of The Crown Estate's purpose.


Main Accountabilities*- Provision of ongoing support to the New Ventures Team in the direct monitoring and management of all tenants' lease obligations such as health & safety, insurance cover, financial reporting, etc., via direct communication with customers and other stakeholders, and management of contact details.


  • Provision of support to the New Ventures Team in the preleasing asset process including assisting in the assessment of project capacity, location and conflicts with existing assets.
  • Management of revenue expenditure budgets for asset portfolios, maintaining careful oversight of spend, cost recovery and arrears, raise purchase orders and process invoices using financial systems.
  • Maintaining document and data management systems for the storage and ongoing maintenance of records, contracts, correspondence and commercial and legal information. Supporting Asset Managers to ensure all asset documentation is filed in the appropriate document management system with appropriate security levels.
  • Responsibility for gathering business lead responses to new asset proximity checks and for responding on behalf of the New Ventures Team to seabed survey licence proximity checks.
  • Monitoring of, and alerting the team to, relevant industry developments in relation to assets, industry sectors and technologies.
  • Contributing to delivery of customer and stakeholder events.
  • Providing cover to other Asset Advisors during periods of absence.

Knowledge and Skills:


  • Knowledge of or interest in, major infrastructure projects, ideally marine sectors.
  • Basic knowledge of property lease terms, a general legal understanding of related commercial issues and experience in engaging with tenants relating to compliance is ideal.
  • Strong organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise a busy and potentially conflicting work load.
  • Strong IT skills including proficiency with Microsoft office suite, communication and document management software
  • Personable dynamic team player who works flexibly and collaboratively with effective partnerships both internally and externally.
