Job Title:
Commercial Planner
Reports To:
Planning & Procurement Manager
Role/Purpose:
- To Support the Commercial team.
- Adopt existing planning processes and tools and introduce, maintain the formal planning procedures that will enhance the overall performance of the business.
- Act as a key contact for customers and suppliers to ensure that JEPCO meets expectations.
- Buy packaging against customer and budget requirements.
- Manage CHEP, IFCO and Europool accounts.
- Cover of Transport coordinator.
- Upsell to customers.
Scope/Dimensions:
- Serve as an internal member of the commercial team, ensuring that key information is uploaded to the system and shared in a timely manner throughout the business.
- Improve costs through planned negotiations for packaging and consumables.
- Manage communications between departments, enabling efficient and effective process.
- Always look to fill space on vehicles by up selling when customers place orders.

- Boxes, Film, Bags, Labels
- Consumables (Print Ribbons, Shrinkwrap, Strapping, Corner Pots, etc )
- Manage CHEP, IFCO and Europool accounts and plan deliveries
- Stock management
- Manage usage of Packaging with packing rigs (reduce waste and control cost)
- Raw material
- Consumables (Potential to take on the buying and budget for this area)
- Traffic Planning

Knowledge (or working towards):
- A general understanding of the fresh produce industry.
- Crop quality specifications with particular focus on crop temperatures and cooling rates and transportation of delicate crops.

Key considerations:
- Holiday requests longer than two weeks must be signedoff by the MD
- As member of commercial team you will be working on weekends rota
Salary:
£25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year

- Gedney Marsh: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
