We have an opening for a groundworks team leader to join us working on high quality domestic and commercial construction projects throughout Cornwall


General Overview

• Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery and personnel
• Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors
• This also includes recruiting, hiring, implementation of training, managing and mentoring employees and contractors.
• Providing adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices and safety needs
• Emphasising safe use of tools, machinery, equipment and PPE
• Toolbox talks in line with relevant H&S matters.
• Developing and managing project budgets and quality standards for all sites
• Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably
• Regularly reporting project status

Typical Daily Tasks (but not exhaustive)

• Earthworks: topsoil strip, bulk dig, stockpile control, muck away.
• Foundations: excavation and construction
• Utility and service installations to facilitate private and 3rd party supplier in line with regulations. (Power, telecoms, broadband/internet, water and gas.)
• Drainage works: Foul and storm water in private and 3rd party assets.
• Landscaping prep and finishes: Driveways, Fencing, hard and soft finishes
• Concrete and masonry works
• Plant and equipment general maintenance and procedures.

Qualifications:

• CITB SSSTS
• Plant experience
• CAT and Genny

Salary:
From £18.00 per hour


Expected hours:
No less than 40 per week
