A new opening has arisen at a Local Authority for an experienced finance business partner to lead after the Corporate Finance team.

Reporting to theDeputy Section 151 officer, the Finance Business Partner is a key member of the Directorate Leadership Team, responsible for leading and develop a professional team in order to provide consistently high quality financial support and adviceto budget-holders and thus ensure that the key outcomes of an efficient, effective and economic service are delivered.

This will include co-ordinating the Revenue Budget, the Capital Budget, the Medium Term Financial Strategy, annual closure of accounts, andgrant claim processes in accordance with the corporate procedure as advised by the Assistant Director of Finance.

You should be a qualified accountant, or equivalent, with substantial experience of working within a Local Government, or perhaps wider public sector, environment in a senior financial management role.

Experience in closing the annual accounts would be veryhelpful, as would be exposure to MTFS. Owing to a challenging schedule, you will need to hit the ground running.

The ability to handle senior management requests and queries will be very important - so excellent communication skills and the ability to rapidlyform effective working relations will be essential.

The role is likely to give you exposure across the organisation, offering the right person a great opportunity to understand the whole council.
