We are looking to recruit a Medical recruitment and Temporary Staffing Team Leader working within the Medical Workforce Team.


You will be the operational lead on Medical recruitment coordinating the junior doctor rotations and rotations for non-training grade doctors.


You will work closely with rota coordinators and Divisions to ensure that the medical temporary staff are recruited in the most cost effective way and that internal resources are being utilised before seeking premium spend temporary staffing usage.


You will bring innovation and creativity to help the Trust with attracting, recruiting and onboarding doctors in the most effective and efficient way.

Your leadership will support the Medical Workforce Administrators and rota coordinators with embedding a robust and cost effective Medical recruitment and temporary staffing service within the Trust.

To operationally lead the Medical Recruitment team and the Trusts Medical locum bank on a day to day basis. Dealing with the full recruitment life cycle for Junior and senior medical appointments, including doctor in training rotations.

Working closely with the Trusts rota coordinators and Divisions to ensure the most cost effective recruitment of temporary staff.

The postholder will work closely with clinical, managerial and rota coordinator colleagues across all Divisions giving expert advice on Medical Workforce recruitment, and Medical terms and conditions.

To reduce Medical Temporary Staffing spend by ensuring proactive recruitment and robust rota design process are embedded. Work in partnership with Divisions to identify locum saving initiatives and medical establishment control.


To lead and coordinate the Junior Doctor Rotations identifying and acting upon any vacancies to avoid the usage of locum or agency doctors.

Coordinate the on boarding and induction process for rotational Junior Doctors.

Make best use of the TRAC recruitment system and support the Medical Workforce administrators with this.


Support the Medical Workforce Administrators in their areas of recruitment and rota design, ensuring they follow the correct contract rules and guidance for any changes.

To deal with all enquiries in respect of Medical Workforce recruitment, pay (T&Cs) and working patterns. Escalating to the Deputy Head of Medical Workforce as appropriate.

Lead on the growth of the internal Medical Locum Bank
