Transport Planner | Full time | Site Based | Ashby-de-la-Zouch (LE65 1JR).


THE SALARY
Up to £32,000.00 based on experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:


  • Planning, directing, and controlling the activities of the transport fleet.
  • Ensuring planned routes are in line with working time directive (WTD) and drivers' hours.
  • Producing optimal transport plans and approving transport routes.
  • Assisting the Transport Planning Manager to ensure the department runs efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitoring the Transport Management software.
  • Liaising with our depots and customers as required on deliveries and any issues.
  • Ensuring the department complies with health and safety legislation.
  • Producing cost efficient operational transport plans daily.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Qualifications. A Level 2 in English & Maths

Experience. Knowledge of transport legislation. Previous experience working in a distribution environment. Strong PC Literacy including Word & Excel in a business capacity.

Communication. You will have excellent communication skills (spoken and written), an approachable attitude and a flexible approach to work.

Influence & Persuasion. A methodical and structured approach to problem solving. Driven and self-motivated.

Planning & Organisation. Flexibility and adaptability. A team player with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

You will be highly organised with an excellent attention to detail, good at prioritising tasks and a great team player.

You will have the ability to stay calm under pressure and a methodical and thorough approach to work.

People & Self Development. You will have a keen approach towards self-development.
