Summary

Location - Burnley Area

I am seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching assistant who has worked with SEMH children to work at a Primary School in Burnley.

You will need to have excellent behaviour management and pastoral/nurture skills, to work across the school supporting individual children as needed.

You will work in conjunction with the Mentor and Pastoral Support Lead supporting students who require additional help with their emotional and mental health needs.

The hours will be each day, Monday to Friday and someone is needed asap.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and other members of staff to provide support to students with SEMH needs
  • To assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Plans.
  • To provide pastoral support to students on a onetoone or group basis, as required.
  • To support the delivery of appropriate interventions and strategies to support the SEMH needs of students.
  • To maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and other staff members.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • A relevant qualification in Education, Psychology or a related field.
  • A thorough understanding of SEMH and the impact it can have on learning.
  • Experience of working with children with SEMH needs in a school or educational setting.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
