Accounts Assistant - Eccles, United Kingdom - Linda Taylors Ltd

The main duties of this Accounts Assistant role willCredit Control & Sales Ledger:
- Working successfully to targets for cash collection and Debtor Days Outstanding
- Posting payments and allocating to customer's account
- Operating the invoice discounting and associated reconciliations
- Responsible for opening new customer accounts, credit checks and setting credit limits putting customers on stop/lifting off stop
- Assessing ongoing credit availability for existing customers
- Resolving queries with customers and internal departments
- Raising credit notes as required
- Collating account history/documentation for solicitors as required in event of default
Purchase Ledger:
- Matching purchase orders to GRN/invoices and checking nominal codes
- Posting supplier invoices and payments
- Dealing with supplier queries
- Reconciling supplier statements
Other:
- Bank reconciliations reconcile cashbook in GBP and EURO
- Processing monthly expenses for all staff
- VAT returns and Intrastat reporting
- Posting of Nominal Ledger journals
- Assisting with Balance Sheet Control Account Reconciliations
- Operating weekly Perpetual Inventory checks
- Supporting Financial Controller with ad hoc duties and reporting
- AAT preferred
- Manufacturing sector experience preferred
- Over 5 years credit control and sales ledger experience
- Some prior experience of an invoice discounting facility
- Numerate with strong attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication, confident telephone manner
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Advanced level IT skills including Excel, accounting packages and ideally ERP systems
- Able to operate both individually and as part of a wider team
