Head of Elderly Care Services

Oldham, Greater Manchester

To £58,000 p.a. depending on experience

Role Overview:


We are working exclusively with a leading provider of Elderly Care services operating across the Borough of Oldham to manage the appointment of a Head of Service to manage their multi-site elderly care service.

Our client is looking to appoint someone to take over the operational ownership of the day to day operations of this multi-site business as well as taking the lead on quality, compliance and safeguarding across the business.

Within this role we are also looking for someone who will be an active member of the Senior Leadership Team, can operate strategically and ensure that performance levels are achieved and business milestones met.


Performance Management and Improvement:


  • Ensure that the work of the organisation is planned, executed, controlled and monitored to meet its strategic objectives, business plans and statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Direct line manage a Team of Registered Care Managers.
  • Oversee delivery plans, including regular evaluation of progress against those plans, agreeing appropriate followup actions with managers as required.
  • Be responsible for the performance management of services and contribute to this agenda across the integrated system in accordance with contract and legislative standards.
  • Continuously review the delivery of services for effectiveness and efficiency, challenging current practice and processes for services to be the best they can be, and foster a high performing culture as aim to become an outstanding provider.

Quality and Compliance:


  • Ensure that all regulatory standards are met across all services to the highest possible level and that the highest quality of service is achieved within available resources.
  • Work with the Director of Care to ensure that any inspection processes run smoothly and support any organisational response that may be required by inspection outcomes and feedback.
  • Ensure that the systems in place are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth.
  • Ensure quality systems are well embedded to check assurance and compliance and that the learning from these is acted upon and used across the organisation to drive improvement.
  • Work with CQC, National Care Forum and other external organisations to ensure we are listening and learning from others, as well as contributing.

Leadership and Workforce:


  • Provide inspirational leadership to care operations at all levels, ensuring all staff are motivated, empowered, valued and performing to their full potential.
  • Provide professional leadership to the operational teams placing a prime focus on professional development at all levels of the organisation.

External Relationships:


  • Represent the interests of the organisation externally and act as a role model for the organisation leading by example in demonstrating the underpinning values in action.
  • Deputise for the MD as and when required and effectively manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Liaise with colleagues across the wider local health & social care system to ensure that services are effective and integrated.

Finance:


  • Take responsibility for the financial performance of services including achieving financial targets.
  • Analyse spend and advise the MD of issues and propose action as necessary.

General Responsibilities:


  • Be part of the senior management oncall rota as required.
  • Undertake continuous professional development (CPD), actively seek out and be aware of new developments, legislation, initiatives and best practice, as appropriate to the role.

Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
£55,000.00-£58,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

  • Bonus scheme
