An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Practitioner in hand Therapy to join our specialist Hands Therapy team on a 6-month Secondment or Fixed Term Contract.
Our Team consists of 1 WTE band 7 Physiotherapist, a 1.3 WTE band 7 Occupational Therapist, 2 WTE band 6 Occupational Therapist 1 WTE Band 6 Physiotherapist and 1 WTE rotational band 5 Physiotherapist.
The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, hardworking, and motivated with excellent clinical, communication, organisational and time management skills and be willing to take an active role within the MDT.
The successful applicant will have experience in providing advice and exercises and following a treatment plan with the support of the wider team.
A flexible approach to day-to-day tasks is essential, to meet the demands of the service, such as referrals, ordering and upkeep.
This role will enable you to consolidate your current skills and knowledge by participating in CPD.We have an excellent staff supervision system enabling our staff to be committed to developing both their service and them.
- To participate in bank holiday, weekend and evening working if required, following appropriate training
- To work in secondary care in a variety of hospital settings and the patient's own homes.
- To hold responsibility for delegated caseload and be responsible for a defined area of service or patient type linking back to the delegating therapist

KEY DUTIES
- To contribute to the identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual care interventions under the direct/indirect supervision of a Registered Practitioner depending upon competency/complexity of work.
- Work with caseload holder to provide advice to clients and carers in relation to any needs and the wider public health remit of the Health and Social Care organisation.
- To maintain accurate, clear, concise, and contemporaneous records as per trust policy and communicate information to members of the Team as necessary.
- To be aware of the role expectations and scope of practice and when to seek clarity from a supervising Registered Practitioner.
- Provide concise handover and information updates to other members of the Team referring clients for assessment and treatment or to other agencies as required.
- To liaise with external agencies with regards to follow up and provide feedback to registered Practitioners as appropriate
- Communicate sensitive service user information appropriately and in accordance with local guidance with other health and social care professionals for the benefit of the service user.
- Adapt personal communication skills to overcome barriers to communication and understanding.
