Description

An exciting opportunity has risen for a highly motivated Deputy Head Orthoptist to support the Head Orthoptist in the delivery of our orthoptic, optometry and ophthalmic technician services across Sandwell and West Birmingham areas.

This is a permanent role for 37.5 hours per week and will work at Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre, Sandwell General Hospital and at the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH)

To be the lead for the Orthoptic Community Out-Reach Clinic and Vision Screening services

To contribute towards the clinical activities within the Department, facilitate training and development for the orthoptists and ophthalmic technicians

To actively participate in services development and promote audits and research within the services
