Top Gear Recruitment Solutions are currently looking for HGV1 container drivers to join one of our busy distribution clients in Aldridge.

Our client is an international freight forwarder with many depots across the UK.

We are looking for a flexible driver who is looking for a Monday-Friday position. We are interested in day and night drivers.


Job Role:


  • Collecting from the various container ports in the UK. The main one being Felixstowe. Port cards can be refreshed or provided if needed.
  • Container shunting from the docks and bring back to the depot
  • Ensure all PODs (proof of delivery) signed by customer and checked before leaving
  • Ensuring all checks are done

Driver must have:


  • No more than 6 points on driving license
  • No accidents in last 5 years
  • Held a UK licence for over 12 months
  • Drivers could be asked to undertake a variety of duties
  • Must have previous experience on containers
  • Port/Dock cards

Must be able to travel between Walsall and Birmingham.

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time, Temporary contract, Temp to perm


Salary:
£14.00-£16.00 per hour


Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 12 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Night shift
  • No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Aldridge,

West Midlands:
reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)


Experience:


  • HGV1: 2 years (required)
  • Container: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
  • Port Cards (preferred)
